It's 20 years for James and Gordon!

Bancon Employees celebrate 20th Anniversary

Bancon would like to congratulate and thank Senior Quantity Surveyor James McBeath and Construction Manager Gordon Taylor for giving 20 years of service to the company.

Both started work with Banchory Contactors Limited in the mid-nineties working on a project to build the Brewers Fayre and Premier Inn at Portlethen. Over the last 20 years they have seen Bancon grow from a small country construction company to a group of companies with a turnover of over £80million.

During his time with Bancon, James has been involved in numerous commercial, housing, health board and education projects. James said: “While the years have passed, personnel have come and gone, the company has adapted to change - not only in name, from Banchory Contractors to Bancon Construction, but also moving my role from Construction to our Homes Division back in May ’15. Here’s to the next 20 years!

Gordon remembers a call in 1996 offering him a 6 month contract with Banchory Contractors Ltd. which he accepted. He was then offered a permanent position with the company and the rest is now history. Over the years Gordon has been involved in various construction projects spanning across many areas including housing, office refurbishment, health board, education and hotels across the North-East.

Gordon said: “I must say that it doesn’t feel like 20 years have gone by. It has been enjoyable to see the company grow and it has been a pleasure to work with colleagues past and present. I wish the Bancon Group all the best in the future.
